Toronto-based pianist Gregory Millar made his professional debut at age 18 with a solo recital in his hometown of Lachine, QC, after winning that city's prestigious mérite culturel award.  Gregory is the recipient of prizes in the Sinfonia Toronto International Concerto Competition, Jessie Kneisel Lieder Competition and the Felix Galimir Chamber Music Prize.

Toronto-based cellist Amahl Arulanandam is known for his musical versatility and ability to adapt to many different genres. From baroque music to heavy metal, in studios, small clubs and large concert-halls, Amahl hopes to convey that musical expression is beyond genres and labels.

End of Year Recital: Sunday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m.

The recital will take place at the Women's Art Association Gallery, located at 23 Prince Arthur Avenue, near Bloor and Avenue Road. 

The cost is $10 per student.

Our ensemble-in-residence, the Annex Quartet, will be playing a concert this Friday, March 7 at 8:00. It will take place at the Arts and Letters Club (14 Elm St., near Yonge and Dundas).

Our programs have grown so much, we've had to grow again! Midtown Music School is thrilled to welcome Yosef Tamir-Smirnoff to our strings faculty. Mr. Tamir has had an extensive performance and teaching career, and is currently a violist in the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra amongst other ensembles.

A native of Moscow, Yosef Tamir-Smirnoff began studying violin at the Tchaikovsky Institute of Music under the guidance of Irina Kouznetsova.

Chamber music is one of the oldest and most revered form of intimate Classical music. Students work in small groups of two to five musicians under the guidance of one of our faculty. The benefits to the student are immeasurable: improved performance and literacy, more soulful playing, greater depth of understanding of their instrument.
